Kyzylyrmak, or in translation "Red River" in Cappadocia, is the longest river in Turkey and a supplier of red clay for ceramic sits. Since ancient centuries, this clay has been the main income of the city of Avanos, which is the center of family pottery. Thanks to the unique and incredibly beautiful ceramics made of red clay,
Avanos became known all over the world. There are a variety of products: mugs, ashtrays, plates, vases, chess sets, etc. The sight of so much water in the local dry steppes is amazing. Particularly impressive looks the river at sunset, when the sun paints the area in red tones - and in the middle stretches a wide blue ribbon of water surface.
